How to Print from iPhone to HP Printer

Printing from your iPhone to an HP printer is easy using AirPrint or the HP Smart app. Here's how.

Method 1 — AirPrint (easiest):

  1. Make sure your HP printer is connected to the same WiFi network as your iPhone

  2. Open the document, photo, or webpage you want to print

  3. Tap the Share button (box with arrow pointing up)

  4. Scroll down and tap Print

  5. Select your HP printer from the list

  6. Choose the number of copies and tap Print

Most HP printers made after 2012 support AirPrint — no app or driver needed.

Method 2 — HP Smart app:

  1. Download the HP Smart app from the App Store

  2. Open the app and add your HP printer

  3. Tap Print → select Photos, Documents, or Camera

  4. Choose what to print and tap the print button

HP printer not showing on iPhone:

  • Make sure your iPhone and HP printer are on the same WiFi network

  • Restart the printer and your iPhone

  • Check that your HP printer supports AirPrint at hp.com/go/airprint

Printing from iPhone via USB:

iPhones don't support direct USB printing to HP printers — WiFi or the HP Smart app are the only options.
