HP Tango Printer Problems — How to Fix Them

The HP Tango is a compact, app-controlled wireless printer. Here's how to fix the most common HP Tango problems.

Common HP Tango printer issues:

  • HP Tango won't connect to WiFi

  • HP Tango light blinking — what it means

  • HP Tango not printing from phone

  • HP Tango not recognized in HP Smart app

  • HP Tango ink cartridge error

HP Tango WiFi setup:

  1. Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone

  2. Open the app → tap the "+" to add a printer → select HP Tango

  3. Follow the in-app setup to connect your Tango to WiFi

  4. The Tango does NOT have a display panel — all setup is done through the HP Smart app

HP Tango light blinking — what it means:

  • Slow white pulse = normal, printer is idle

  • Fast white pulse = printer is starting up or processing

  • Amber/orange light = error — check the HP Smart app for details

  • Blue light = connecting to WiFi

HP Tango not printing:

  1. Open the HP Smart app and check the printer status

  2. Make sure your phone and Tango are on the same WiFi network

  3. Restart the Tango by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then plugging back in

HP Tango ink cartridge error:

  1. Open the top cover of the Tango

  2. Remove and reinsert the cartridge firmly

  3. If the error continues, replace with a genuine HP cartridge
