How to Connect Your HP Printer to WiFi

A wireless HP printer gives you the freedom to print from anywhere in your home or office. Here's how to connect it to your WiFi network.

HP printer WiFi setup steps:

  1. On your HP printer's control panel, press the Wireless button or go to Settings → Wireless → Wireless Setup Wizard

  2. Select your WiFi network name (SSID) from the list

  3. Enter your WiFi password

  4. Wait for the printer to connect — the wireless light will stop blinking and stay solid

  5. Print a Wireless Test Report to confirm the connection

Connect HP printer to WiFi from your phone:

  1. Download the HP Smart app (Android or iPhone)

  2. Open the app and tap "Set Up a New Printer"

  3. Follow the in-app steps to connect your HP printer to WiFi

WiFi connection tips:

  • Place your HP printer within range of your router

  • Make sure you're connecting to the 2.4GHz network, not 5GHz (most HP printers prefer 2.4GHz)

  • If your router has a new password, reconnect the printer using the Wireless Setup Wizard again
