HP Printer Printing Blank Pages — How to Fix

If your HP printer is printing blank or empty pages, here's what's causing it and how to fix it.

Common causes:

  • Empty or low ink cartridges

  • Clogged printheads

  • Incorrect paper settings

  • Corrupted print driver

Fixes to try:

Check ink levels:

  1. Open HP Smart or the HP printer software

  2. Check ink levels — replace any empty or very low cartridges

Clean the printhead:

  1. Go to your HP printer settings on your computer

  2. Find Printer Maintenance or Tools

  3. Click Clean Printhead — run it 2-3 times

  4. Print a test page after each clean

Check paper settings:

  • Make sure the paper size and type in your print settings match what's loaded in the tray

Reinstall the driver:

  • Uninstall the HP printer software and reinstall from support.hp.com
