HP Printer Not Printing? Here's How to Fix It

If your HP printer is on but won't print, you're not alone. This is one of the most common HP printer issues — and it's almost always fixable.

Common reasons your HP printer is not printing:

  • Print queue is stuck or frozen

  • Printer is set to "Offline" mode

  • Outdated or corrupted HP printer driver

  • Low ink or empty cartridge

  • Paper jam inside the printer

Quick fixes to try:

  1. Restart your HP printer and computer

  2. Go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers → right-click your HP printer → select "See what's printing" → cancel all jobs

  3. Right-click your HP printer again → "Use Printer Online"

  4. Uninstall and reinstall the HP printer driver from hp.com/support

  5. Check ink levels and replace any empty cartridges
