HP Printer Not Connecting to Computer? Here's the Fix
If your HP printer isn't being recognized by your computer, here's what to check.
For USB connections:
Try a different USB cable — cables go bad and are a common cause
Try a different USB port on your computer
Unplug and replug the cable while the printer is on
Go to Device Manager and check if the HP printer shows any errors
Reinstall the HP printer driver from support.hp.com
For wireless connections:
Make sure both your computer and HP printer are on the same WiFi network
Restart your printer and router
Remove the printer from your computer and re-add it
Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool (free from HP)
Check the print spooler:
Press Windows + R, type services.msc, press Enter
Find Print Spooler, right-click → Restart
Try printing again
