HP Printer Ink Not Working? Here's What to Do

If your HP printer is producing blank pages, streaks, or faded output, the issue is usually with the ink or printhead.

How to fix HP ink not working:

1. Check ink levels — Open HP software → confirm which cartridge is low or empty and replace it.

2. Clean the printhead — HP Printer Assistant → Printer Maintenance → Clean Printhead. Run 2–3 times.

3. Manually clean the cartridge contacts: Remove the cartridge. Use a dry lint-free cloth to gently wipe the copper contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer. Reinsert firmly.

4. Run a Print Quality Diagnostic — Settings → Reports → Print Quality Diagnostic Page

5. Align printheads — HP Printer Assistant → Align Printhead
