HP LaserJet Printer Problems — How to Fix Them
HP LaserJet printers are built for heavy-duty printing, but they can still run into issues. Here's how to troubleshoot the most common HP LaserJet problems.
Common HP LaserJet issues:
Paper jam inside the LaserJet
Faded or streaky print output
LaserJet showing offline
Toner cartridge not recognized
LaserJet won't print after a Windows update
Paper jams:
Open all access doors and gently remove jammed paper — never pull forcefully
Check the tray, rear door, and fuser area
Reload paper correctly and close all doors
Faded print quality:
Remove the toner cartridge and rock it gently side to side to redistribute toner
Reinsert and print a test page
If still faded, replace the toner cartridge
LaserJet offline:
Restart the printer and computer
Go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers → right-click your LaserJet → set it back to online
